About Me Hi! My name is Yomi Aroso. I am a sixth grade teacher with the Peel District School Board in Peel region, Ontario. I truly enjoy teaching middle school students. Having taught in middle school for most of my teaching career with opportunities and experiences in diverse countries and cultures, I have enjoyed the spontaneity, creativity and growth that occurs in students' of this age.
I recently completed an intensive yearlong "Leaders for Tomorrow" program organized by our union which included a variety of workshops and experiences related to leadership roles. Simultaneously, I was enrolled in the University of New England Masters of Education program with a concentration in Educational Leadership. I am in the process of completing my degree.
As the leader of the after-school program in my school with 80 students, I have been able to collaborate and develop a good rapport with other teachers, parents and the community on a daily basis. I am excited about taking on a new leadership role next year as an ISSP teacher and I look forward to another opportunity to grow and have a positive influence on my students.
On a personal note, I have been married for 16 years and have active 14 year old twin daughters who keep me young and on my toes.
Thanks
